Illustration Friday -Blues
The Blues, one can not help but think about music, "the blues" and of New Orleans. This piece was created as a full page for On Mission magazine about the rebuilding of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. I had modified it a bit from the original by having the musician's feet underwater. Originally it was on a hand raised above the water. I felt that actually touching the water worked better, but you know the deal with clients, they have their own views. Fair enough, so here's my blues...
Upon waking today and peering outside, I notice many leaves on the outside deck, as humid and warm as it is, seeing this I have to acknowledge Fall is coming regardless of the temperature.

That's really beautiful. The colours are perfect, and work so well together. It's soothing, yet exciting. Also, I guessed it was related to Katrina before reading your description; good job evoking the theme. :)
Excellent piece. You really captured the essence. It's beautiful.
very nice. funny when i read this weeks topic i didn't think of music. thought of feeling sad or blue flowers. like your idea a lot.
I love this. I think that the feet in the water are actually the best part... it's a pity that your clients didn't see that.
lovely!! great style!
This is wonderful. It conveys what I'm trying to convey in my post this week, but (in my opinion) more effectively. Really nicely done.
This is a really cool piece. I like the connection to New Orleans. The music coming out of the saxophone really represents what you think of as the blues. Great piece!
This is just SO well done - so beautifully rendered - gosh, I love it!!
Thanks!
: o )
