A beautiful, handsome guy who passed earlier this year. Grant is missed. I rarely do memorial artwork.

butternut recipe
 5 x 7 acrylic on panelPurchased this butternut squash based on its appearance for painting it. It’s sort of always been a mystery to me how to cook a squash.
I finally cut it in half… the beautiful orange color.
Painted it! But then time to cook…
The true adventure begins.
Start off cubing the squash, small bite size cutes.
In a large pot coated with some olive oil, cook the squash
with ½ teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon of curry- cook a few minutes until it
sticks to the bottom then add ½ cup of water.
Cover and cook.
Meanwhile… in a bowl combine green onions, 2 clove of
garlic, dash of soy sauce and
5 eggs.
After the squash is cooked pour the egg mixture over and
lower heat.
Stir till cooked.

Vacation in the Catskills NY
The great escape is here, summer 2013! Back in January I found a great cabin in the catskills to rent for a week. Someplace in the woods with peace and quiet and lovely views and great friends to share this with (not to mention one cool dachshund).
We had picked a gem, a lovely place in an awesome location. There was a fire pit out back before you hit the creek and a lovely deck where you hear the white noise creek.
The cast included all artists of varying disciplines. David Klein Illustrator, Julie Tesser ceramic goddess, Charles Basman plein air painter and me artistic traveler, and of course Lucy the ginger doxie who appreciates the art of the hug.

Good bye my little Angel, Rest in Peace
This week I lost my best friend. Cookie was a long hair dachshund. She was born in March of 1998 and she died May 2013, she was 15.
She was at my side for all that time, a true and loyal companion. My heart is broken as she was my baby. She pass at home with me at her side.
She lived fierce, never letting her handicap get her down. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her. She touched so many with her awesome attitude.
Words can not express how my heart aches with her loss. She will be missed.
